How and Why Did You Name Your Company Olive Ewe Productions?

Olive Ewe Productions, what's with the name?? It's not random I promise!

When tasked with dreaming up a name for this little Boston based wedding video company I knew I needed help. So, I enlisted the help of lovely man whom I call my best friend and partner. Early in our relationship we would text each other silly things like Elephant Shoe, or Olive Juice, to each other because phonetically it sounds like "I Love You." This is the main idea behind the company name.

As we sat in our dingy basement apartment brainstorming and putting strange words together, suddenly "Olive Ewe" stumbled out of somebody's mouth. THAT'S IT! I shouted.

Olives are a symbol of peace and wisdom in western culture, which I do believe are important aspects of a relationship. However let's be honest. The real reason I latched on to Olive Ewe was because I LOVE sheep. I know that sounds a little weird because they are some of the dumbest animals around. But hear me out.

  1. I grew up watching Lamb Chop while holding my favorite stuffed animal in the world, a Lamb.
  2. Rachel, my name, in Hebrew רחל, literally means Ewe.
  3. They are fluffy and cute!

Why the word productions, instead of videography, or videos, or simply films?

To me your wedding film is more than showing up with a camera on the day and slapping some music underneath the images and calling it done. I get to know you as a couple and as individuals, your likes and dislikes, and the things that matter most to you. Our wedding films are stories that allow you to relive some of your favorite memories for your lifetime and beyond. This requires an approach and attention to detail worthy of a full fledged film production.

And there you have it, the origin and story behind Olive Ewe Productions' name.

Waverly Oaks in Plymouth MA Wedding

These two lovely people have one of my favorite engagement stories because of its practicality and perfect sweetness. Diana and Suraj had been together for several years when they finally decided to get married, together.  It's not very often you hear this sort of thing but it suits their personalities and relationship so well, it could not have gone down any other way.

Once they mutually agreed marriage was the next step for them, they decided on a date to announce to their friends and family. That morning they woke up and read each other personally crafted vows (some of which you actually hear in their film). That evening they saw a concert and walked around Harvard Square. No anxiety or pressure, just a lovely day together, and I would say the exact same was the overall feeling of their wedding day. (Well except for maybe a few butterflies before publicly declaring their love for each other in front of rough 120 people.)

Their wedding took place entirely at Waverly Oaks Golf Club in Plymouth MA. The weather was literally perfect, for real check out the sunset they got.

Their wedding ceremony was a Western and Indian mix that was perfectly balanced. Diana wore a white gown that converted to short for maximum fun dancing times at the reception! And she had henna hand and feet art done in keeping with Indian custom.

They are so freaking adorable, they choreographed this little number to "Boogie Shoes" to entertain their guests a bit at the reception and it really got the party started. Check out some more sick dance moves and listen to their sweet personalized vows in their wedding video.
