Maritime Gloucester Coastal North Shore Wedding, Sara + Rick

“I remember driving away from your house that night thinking; How the hell did I get so lucky? She's amazing, I can be myself around her, and she still wants to see me tomorrow. So don't blow this. ”

On their second "date" Rick asked Sara to cancel her plans to move across the country as they paddle-boarded away from the light house they had mildly trespassed at. It was a bold move. Sorry not the trespassing, but asking her not to move. And she stayed!  They decided that there was something special between them and that love was worth a shot.

But before that they were just "friends." Friends would hang out a lot, try to get each other's attention, maybe flirt a little. You know "friend" things. Spoiler alert, they're definitely more than friends, they are now married. And they have a genuine lasting love that has already withstood many of life's ups and downs. Some of which may have occurred the actual morning of their wedding with a weather scare!

The whole day took place in Gloucester and most of their vendors were actual friends on the North Shore. Their bartender, photographer, hair dresser, all actual legit great friends. They surround themselves with people they love and support their businesses in the process. Their families also made me feel like a friend, a stranger who they had only spoken to and skyped with a handful of times. By the end of the weekend, I think we did just become friends? Yup.

Rick knew even before he proposed that he wanted to be married at Maritime Gloucester. And it made perfect sense for them. They met and fell in love in Gloucester, their first dates had something to do with paddle-boarding, and Rick is in the Coast Guard. Despite the very scary threat of rain that morning, they were graced with the most beautiful of sunny days and cloudless nights. Everyone enjoyed cocktail hour on the dock and danced the night away under string lights all up and down the boardwalk. I believe that no fewer then 5 people got Iced during their reception. A compilation of which you can see around minute 5.

Cheers to bold moves that lead to love and sweet ass dance moves!
