Greek Orthodox Odyssey Boat Boston Wedding Film, Gina + Tony

"Your soulmate is not someone who comes into your life peacefully. Its someone who comes to make you question things, who changes your reality. Somebody that marks a before and after in your life."

Gina and Tony epitomize that elusive word, soulmate. Though many of us come to think of that term as unattainable, or over simplistic, Gina's sister in her toast, perfectly describes a more accurate and meaningful sense of the word. Gina and Tony each had their own separate and successful lives filled with friends and family. But one day, they set themselves on a path to change each other's lives.

When Gina and Tony reached out about having their Greek Orthodox and Boat Cruise reception wedding filmed, I nearly jumped with excitement for two reasons. First, we had never filmed a Greek Orthodox ceremony, and second, we had never filmed on a boat!

We started out the day getting at the beautiful Boston Harbor Hotel, where we had a balcony view to the boat down below where the reception would take place only a few hours later.

After that it was off to the church for the ceremony. The Greek Orthodox ceremony is full of visually rich customs, exchanging crowns, walking in a circle, smoke billowing out of the thurible.

Just like that, these two soulmates were bound together in marriage! We took our Dramamine (safety first people) and all hoped on board the Odyssey Boston's newest ship.

Gina and Tony were lead into the room by a huge drum powered Lebanese Band, and danced for quite a while with everyone.

It was surreal to see the Boston skyline fading into the night as we pulled away from the dock and as Gina's niece sang "The Prayer" along with a violin accompaniment. Sometimes life FEELS like a movie, and this was certainly one of those times.

For the reception they had a Lebanese Band and a DJ! Though the dance floor was small, everyone partied hard from the first deck all the way up to the third.

Popponesset Inn Cape Cod Wedding, Chelsea + Conor

The cape is a magical place, for the obvious reasons like the natural beauty of the waves and sunsets, but also because of the beautiful relationships that are strengthened and forged there. It affords the opportunity to escape from the bustle of busy life in Boston and truly focus on the people around you. It is here that Chelsea and Conor fell in love after a long courtship on Conor's behalf. It only made sense for them to have the most grandfantabulous wedding day right in the very place where their relationship blossomed.

We started off the day getting ready and jamming to some Tay Swift at an AirBNB in Mashpee, MA.

After everyone finished getting the movie star treatment, we loaded up the car and hopped on over to the church for the ceremony. At this point you're going to have to watch their Cape Cod wedding video to understand the quaintness of Saint Anthony's Church in Falmouth, the beauty of this couple, and the love that was evident all day long.

The rest of the evening at the Popponesset Inn was nothing short of wonderful. During our beach photo and video session the bridal party all climbed up on one of those giant wooden lifeguard chairs, it was pretty hilarious to watch.

After a soft pastel sunset during the speeches, everyone danced long into the night. A magical wedding day in Cape Cod and one we will not soon forget.

And now your moment of zen....

Shout out to Sarah Murray Photography for being an amazing photography/collaborator/human being on this wedding. If you're getting married on the Cape, you need to hire her for your photography.

Kimberly + Eric Capo Restaurant and St Cecilia Wedding

Are you available THIS SATURDAY?

The morning of July 26th, 2016 I woke up on the west coast ready to catch my flight back to Boston with this message in my inbox. Kimberly and Eric decided they needed to have a wedding video four days before their big day! I am so happy they stumbled upon Olive Ewe Productions, and that we were available, because boy, this is a wedding to remember.

Some fun facts I learned on my call with Kimberly before leaving for the airport:

  1. Kimberly and Eric have been together for 25 years
  2. Eric owns the restaurant, Capo in South Boston among others, where the reception will take place
  3. Kimberly is wearing a CRIMSON colored dress
  4. They are the coolest people (well she didn't say that but I could tell already)

We met up for the first time at the rehearsal at St Cecilia in Back Bay and conducted our pre-interview, which is basically a practice run for the real interviews you see in all our videos.

Their love story is beautiful not only because of the obvious length of time they have shared together, but because of the care and devotion they show towards one another in the stories they choose to remember and tell. Kimberly spared a pair of gloves for Eric on a cold night at Boston University and unknowingly sparked their relationship, and Eric all but forced a restaurant to stay open a little longer to feed Kimberly on their first date. If that's not love I'm not sure what is.

Take a moment to watch their beautiful Boston wedding video.

How awesome is their proposal story?! I literally cannot think of anything more romantic.

I need to take a moment here to shamelessly plug Eric's restaurant Capo. The food, THE FOOD, people, the food. Have your event, wedding, or just have your next dinner there, go and thank me later.

Also, let this be a beacon of hope to anyone out there considering a different colored wedding dress. They exist, they are amazing, don't even question it just do it.

Kimberly and Eric, thank you so much for choosing us to film your wedding. I know you will enjoy the next 25 years (and then some) together.

Your moment of zen....

Andover Country Club Wedding, Brittany + Francis

Brittany and Francis had been together a little over a decade when they were married on May 29th, 2016. Its such a joy to see two people that have been together for so long be so excited about spending the rest of their lives together. I mean, look at their faces. Happiest people alive!

The ceremony took place at the stunning St Augustine's Parish with Father Lou officiating. Father Lou was the kindest and most insightful Deacon I have had the honor of filming. He pointed out that although Catholic weddings must abide by certain rules, that the options given to the couple can make 130 combinations of a Catholic ceremony and today was Brittany and Francis' version. LOVED that.

I could go on to describe their take on Catholic vows, but I think its best that you watch at this point.

My favorite surprise of the day was the cousin who brought his fiddle to play some Irish tunes after the ceremony and during the reception. And that wasn't even all the live music that day! The band The Party Factor supplied the tunes and entertainment for the reception at the Andover Country Club and totally crushed it.

No moment of zen this time, this day was action packed!
